Exhibition CONCRETA from 21 to 24 November 2019.
With a wide experience in the training of architects, the ESAP (Escola Superior Artística do Porto) Architecture Course combines a theoretical-critical formation with the practice of an architecture teaching strongly supported in the drawing and in the activities in collaboration with companies related to the construction industry for the experimentation and development of strategies and solutions for a sustainable architecture.
The FOLD installation, designed by the MIA | ESAP Team and sponsored by A. BARBOSA, proposes the theme of flexibility through a moving object as a strategy for a multipurpose use of space and a complementary contribution to the sustainability for the built environment.
The basic constitutive principle is thus dynamic, so that the object is able to adapt to the environment and the user’s spatial organization needs. In this perspective, FOLD assumes itself as an architectural metaphor for reflecting and conveying the need to renew interest in the design of mechanisms and architectures that allow a more flexible and sustainable use of space.
