THEME

In line with the international panorama, Portugal is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The various sectors of society will have to demonstrate resilience and innovation in the imminent response to new challenges. Since the construction sector, of great importance in the national economy, is one of the main CO2 emitters, Concreta’24 challenges companies and professionals to implement the “Decarbonization of Architecture and Engineering“.

Considering carbon neutrality in the construction process goes far beyond the design of “new green buildings”. Factors such as optimization of resources, handling processes, possibilities for reduction, reuse or recycling, are part of an approach that is based on a circular and more sustainable economy. The sector relies on its companies and professionals in the development, presentation and implementation of new products, ideas and design methods that contribute to reducing the environmental footprint.
